Travel Grant Application
Deadline: April 3, 2010
Overview: This is
the 28th year for the Aspen Allergy Conference, which is scheduled for July 27 through July 31, 2010 at the Given Institute in Aspen, CO. The Given Institute
provides a very unique setting for the exchange of scientific information. This
annual conference consists of four consecutive and thematic half-day sessions,
featuring state-of-the-art basic science and clinical topics on Allergy, Asthma
and Immunology. This meeting is sponsored in part by the Colorado Allergy and
Asthma Society, a steering committee and an advisory board with representation
from around the country. State of the Art speakers are invited from around the
world providing an international viewpoint on selected topics of interest.
Because a limited number of attendees (e.g. 150) participate in this annual
conference, there is an exceptional amount of time and ample opportunity for
discussion of the information presented.
Scientific Abstracts: Abstract
presentations are recommended and selected for either oral or poster
presentations. Potential topics of the abstracts can be related to any topic of
special interest to the allergy community. As with the State of the Art
presentations, there is an exceptional amount of time allotted for discussion
after all abstract presentations.
Travel Grants: This year,
a limited number of travel grants will be available to provide funding for
Fellows-in-Training, Junior Faculty Members and Young Clinicians to help defray
the actual costs of attending the annual Aspen Allergy Conference.
Eligibility for Travel Grants: These grants will be open to three potential groups.
1. Fellows-in-Training in Allergy and Clinical
Immunology Training Programs
2. Junior Faculty Members within ten years of their
fellowship training
3. Young practicing clinicians in Allergy, Asthma, and
Clinical Immunology within 10 years of their fellowship training
Funding: There will be a
limited number of travel grants awarded to those attendees who meet the
eligibility criteria and submit a travel grant application. The in-state applicants will be awarded
a maximum amount of $650 and
out-of-state applicants will receive a maximum
of $1250. The funding for these travel grants was made available through a
generous, unrestricted grant from Lincoln Diagnostics, Inc. The funding will help defray the overall costs of
attending this meeting. Travel grant awardees are expected to attend the entire
Aspen Allergy Conference.
Deadline for applications will be April 3, 2010.
